My Saturday

I posted this little poem a while back, then drafted it, now it's dusted off and coming back. I'm not about to say it's well written--it's very rhymey and the meter is probably way off, but it brings back memories of scribbling it down in a spiral notebook.

The hearts of two have never known
a pulse so sweet to call their own.

A dull end-beat was always wrought.
They were alone; it was the lot.

But now they know their hearts aren't whole,
they are but halves within two souls.

And these two halves can hardly beat,
save from the time they were complete.

Today, what am I doing today? I'm writing this (you already know that), and probably staying home from church tonight because I'm still not entirely well. Tonight's plans will include pumpkin pie and a homemade pumpkin latte *score*, watching a romantic, silly, not incredibly full of depth, but so very cheery Hallmark Christmas movies with the parents, listening to Scotty Mccreery's new Christmas album, and maybe dusting off my guitar. This is Saturday to me. What does your Saturday look like? :)

  2. I love your poem! It's very beautiful :)

And OH MY GOSH! I LOVE HALLMARK MOVIES!!!!!!

Sorry, I freaked out a little there. Seriously, not a lot of people I meet like cheesy Hallmark movies like I do. Me and my mom and my sister adore them and everyone thinks we are crazy! Haha. This made me so happy! I can't wait to see the new ones this year :)

Renoir is amazing :) I am glad you enjoy him as well. Have you ever seen any of Degas pieces? He did some beautiful ballet scenes. And I am glad I could encourage you with my other post :)

    Hope your Saturday is amazing!

    1. Thank you so much, Lacey!

Haha! I know how you feel, because not everyone likes those movies. They make me super happy too. They're just... ahh, so heart-warming. :)

I think I have seen some of his work, but I'm not sure. I'll have to look him up! :)
