What happens when you find your old iPod Shuffle that only has a couple of handfuls of songs uploaded to it? You start dancing around your kitchen to American Idol tunes from several years back. Or at least this is my experience... I can't speak for the world as a whole.
But in other more interesting news, Valentine's Day is approaching us. Seventeen days, to be exact. Am I the only single girl who's unexplainably excited about it? I have no idea what it is about the day, other than the candy and pink and red everything lining the store shelves. I'll admit, I've had past Valentine's Days where I felt it was my civic duty (not to mention honor) to verbally express to everyone within listening range of my disappointment in this day, a day that was invented solely to bring light to the realities of my tragic datelessness. But I'm over that. I mean seriously, the day is still super fun, and I don't even have to take the time to worry my frantic, little fashion oblivious head if I'm wearing the right outfit (partially because I'll probably be working that day in my uniform). I can just enjoy it without worrying about... well, anything, singleness included. And you should too! Listen to fun music, watch a favorite movie with your best friends, or maybe just do a few cartwheels as reminder of how alive you are. Alright, I've never done a cartwheel in my life, but the other day I randomly really really wanted to.
What does this Valentine's Day mean to you?
I'm excited about V-day too...even being single. ;) Normally it's a hit or miss holiday for me. I either love it & indulge in chocolate & chick flicks...or I caustically go around all day making self-deprecating jokes about my perpetual singleness. ;) {Which my sister does on a regular basis...}
ReplyDeleteI'm actually SO excited about the holiday I have a week long blog party & a giveaway in the works if you'd care to pop over soon. <3
Oh, I know what you mean, girl, haha! Chocolate and chick-flicks sounds perfect. Oh gosh, not much better than that. :D
DeleteI'll keep updated on your blog! Thank you for telling me about it, Meghan!
I really don't care about Valentine's Day. I don't love it or hate it. I'm not against the day, if I had a guy I'd enjoy celebrating it, but since I don't I really don't care too much. There was a time when I loved it immensely and also a time when I hated it with a passion. I do, however, think it's a wonderful excuse to eat a lot of chocolate :DDD
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH FULL HOUSE AND EVEN STEVENS YES! And that episode of I Love Lucy is probably my FAVORITE or one of my most favoritest of them all!
Chocolate, YES! :D
DeleteI knooooow, those shows are amazing! =) I had forgotten how much I loved Even Stevens and Full House, until I started watching some old episodes again recently. :) It may be my favorite too! I love when she Ethel cuts Lucy's spaghetti with manicure scissors, hahaha.
Baahahaha, me too! They are such a hoot. My bro got me the first two seasons of I Love Lucy for Christmas. Once we are unpacked I am dying to watch it!
DeleteP.S. I tagged you :) http://agoodthinkingplace.blogspot.com/2013/02/tag.html

Thank you so much, Regine!
DeleteI LOVE this. I have a few things to say. 1. THE OLD AMERICAN IDOL TUNES! Yes. The other day me and my Mom went through our old cd's and we found a cd that had the top 12 of season 4 of american idol! It was crazy. :) I feel super old.
ReplyDelete2. I'm so excited about Valentine's Day too! I actually have a saved draft of a post I was going to put up on thursday since it';; be 2 weeks away then all about valentine's day and being single or nonsingle. :)
3. FULL HOUSE AND THE GLITTER PILLS<3 Such a cute idea, and such a good tv show. I loove it. And i love the walt disney quote and everything disney. It's so cute, and happy, and dreamlike and i love it. I love disney movies, disney characters, disney world, walt disney (his autobiography is actually quite fascinating) Yup, ok, I'm done ranting now.
I love your psot, and I love that your writing again because I missed reading your lovely posts<3
Oh, how fun! There's something about listening to older songs like that, that just brings back so many wonderful memories. And Idol in general takes me back to my childhood. :)
DeleteI can't wait to read that post of your's! :D I may write some more about Valentines, since it's starting to become one of my favorite days ever, haha. (:
I love everything Disney too! Oh, you're definitely not ranting, girl. You should hear me go off about it...
Thank you, Sophie! I've missed writing. :)
This is such a good post! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThe third picture is AMAZING! For two reasons: 1. I'm a calvin and hobbes nut and I like lord of the rings too(I'm having trouble identifying that hobbit though, Pippin perhaps? He seems like he would do that) 2. That illustration is from the Tenth Anniversary calvin and hobbes wich I JUST READ.
It's an awesome picture. =D
A pack of Corgies...ah, nothing better! Love those dogs! So funny lookin'!
Glitter pills; great idea again! Good for valentines day I would think...
A box of chocolate chips, YES!
That T-shirt would describe me, I'm constantly laughing at myself...=) Like when I tripped over my own tennis - shoe shod feet in the hallway, Jenny is sometimes very graceful, and other times...NOT. 8D
Yep, I'm a dork. It's okay. =P
~Jenny
Thank you, Jenny! :D
DeleteAhh, I've just been introduced to Calvin and Hobbes recently, but I love it so far! :) Hmm, you may be definitely right about it being Pippin!
Yeees! I think every girl should have glitter pills for Valentines. ^_^
Ahahaha, oh girl, that sounds like me too. I run into actual door facings too, too often. ;) It just makes us fun, and quirky. I mean seriously, being graceful has to be boring, don'tcha think? Hehe
