What Would Have...

I was going past a duel hospital and college campus today in downtown, and it was in the morning, when people were going this way and that, rushing to get to work, class or an appointment. Rushing, rushing. Never stopping. I see a stately professor clad in a silk sports coat on a corner waiting to get to his destination and then a blink away I may notice a nurse in her scrubs, who's sprinting on and away. A young guy who looks like he should be in Hollywood, coolly makes his way down the strip of sidewalk, and I'm just in awe of how all different kinds can be so closely habituated together.  I like it.
I then see a girl and a guy cross each other's path while making their way over the busy street I'm driving down. They stop long enough to smile, laugh and exchange a few words that I'll never know. Then they move on. Life moves on. But I wonder... what was their story, and what would have happened had they not been rushed? Would they have meandered over to that old coffee shop, or maybe have spent the day in the park or over at the historic downtown movie theater, catching a matinee? I wonder.

Do any of you think about the people you see and mull slightly over what their story may be and what would have happened had this world not been in a mad dash to beat the clock that ticks in our ears?

On another note...
I found a song I adore. He's Australian and says the word "hair" like perfection. :)

May you have a day filled with sunshine (or rain if you prefer) and lots of love. <3

  2. I do that all the time! :) I love how you phrased it and described the people though. I find strangers quite fascinating. Just because we're all walking about this world running errands and we have some reason or purpose why we are doing that. But at the same time it's crazy because when you have an encounter with a stranger, sometimes it can be magical. You get to hear their life story or maybe get a chance to make their day by complimenting their outfit. And sometimes you can't help but wonder whether it was coincidence to run into that particular stranger in a world full of them, or if it was mere luck.

  3. I love your thoughts and I totally do the same thing. People are so intriguing. Why they do the things they do, what they have experienced in life to make them act in such a way... it's funny how we call everyone we don't know strangers, when really we are all brothers and sisters and all come from the same place and are probably a lot closer than we let ourselves be...

Anyway. Good way to get my morning started, with abstract thoughts :P Haha, have a good day!! :)
